Overabundance and Scarcity

As part of this year's 12th Reciklart (International Art Festival of Recycling and DIY Culture), we are organising the art colony for the second time for students from universities in Slovenia and Slovakia. 

In the days leading up to the upcoming festival, we will be working on this year's topic, "Overabundance and Scarcity", under the mentorship of tutors from Slovenia and Slovakia. All participants will create works that will be exhibited as part of the festival group exhibition at the Alkatraz Gallery and later in an exhibition in Košice (SK) in the spring of 2027.

The colony aims to bring together and enable (international) networking of students of visual arts through collaboration and socialising in the context of exploring socially engaged themes that have long since transcended the confines of individual countries and smaller communities and require a broader engagement, which can be addressed on a smaller scale through projects such as our art colony and exhibition.
